Yorkshire lass Anwen originally came to the south coast to study a master’s degree in Illustration — but the sunnier climes, culture and community made it impossible to leave!
While previously working in online content and marketing, she began learning to code in her spare time with the fantastic codebar, making the career change into web development in 2019. She has since worked on WordPress projects for a wide variety of clients, and the learning has never stopped.
Anwen became co-organiser of codebar Brighton three years ago, helping others on their journey into development by running free coding workshops for underrepresented groups in the tech industry. Last year she was named one of the BIMA 100 Champions for Change for her work with the charity.
Away from the digital world, she’s a huge live music fan and goes to see up-and-coming bands whenever possible. She loves cinema, looking at (and occasionally making) art, and can’t wait for Brighton Festival season.
