Quarterly update – May 2023
We’re back with another update to show you what we’ve been up to so far in 2023! As usual the team have been working hard on new projects, and of course have had some excellent socials, but we also have a new addition to the team!
Projects
Community Works
One of our recent projects was a rebuild of the Community Works website, a client we have been working with for over a decade! Community Works is a local Brighton charity that supports the voluntary, community, and social enterprise sector. We successfully rebuilt their site with CiviCRM, WordPress, custom design from our UX and design consultant, Sarah and support from CiviCRM consultant Rose.
We’re very happy with how this rebuild turned out. Feel free to check it out!

We recently updated our highly popular guide for 2023, which compares WordPress, Drupal, and Joomla.

Team expansion
In March, we welcomed a new member of the team, Glen, and we are very excited to have him join our development team. He brings with him nearly 20 years of web development experience. As well as running his own agency in Spain, he has worked for a number of agencies in Sussex and a Search Engine data platform.
BrightMinded socials
Pub lunch with games
The team had a fun lunch at Robin Hood. Everyone enjoyed a delicious pizza and played games for a few hours, including Jenga and an almost never-ending game of Scrabble! Robin Hood was very welcoming and also dog friendly, which meant Dan’s lovely dog, Marla, joined us too! We definitely recommend this pub!
BrightMinded’s birthday lunch
We recently celebrated 12 years of BrightMinded with a team lunch at Otello in Hove. For the occasion, we welcomed back ex-founder Dan Cowan, who is currently studying, while performing his daily Soto Zen duties, in Japan. Another lovely afternoon and yummy food!
